Friday 23 January 2009
National Space Centre, 11.00 am - 1.00pm.
It’s going to be an exciting year ahead for the LeicestHERday Trust. At our 8th Annual Conference on 6th March 2009,
‘Women: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’
and in celebration of International Women’s Day, the trust will be looking back at the lives of women living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland over the last 100 years.
We will be celebrating the experiences, challenges and achievements of women living in our county over the past century, tackling the issues that are facing women in the 21st century and looking at how we can overcome these barriers to work towards a brighter future. Topics covered will include childcare, health and general wellbeing, the gender pay gap, and access to education, training and employment.
We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the launch of this vibrant and exciting event. It’s a chance for you to learn more about our conference theme and hear about the many exciting events the LeicestHERday Trust will be running in 2009.
You will also be able to find out more about the fascinating activities taking place as part of the Alice Hawkins Heritage Project and discover how you can get involved.
LeicestHERday’s patron, the Rt. Hon. Patricia Hewitt and the Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Leicester, Councillor Manjulla Sood will be in attendance.
